  CATEGORIES OF PARTICIPATION

 
There are 6 different categories
  1. TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS

    Acknowledges products that result from creativity or technological innovation and create competitiveness in the productive sector and/or improve the quality of life of society in general. Examples: new products, software, machinery, artifacts, tools, didactic material, laboratory material, pharmaceuticals, chemical compounds and product patents.
  2. TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES

    Acknowledges the design and implementation of processes based on proprietary, cutting-edge technology demonstratable within the last three years. A considerable improvement in the productivity of the companies or institutions should be shown and/or new job opportunities generated. Examples: technological based methodologies, medical treatments, process patents, procedures, implementation and design.
  3. TECHNOLOGICAL SERVICES

    Acknowledges entrepreneurs or providers of technology (be it individuals, companies and/or institutions) on profitable proposals, applied for at least three years, in an entrepreneurial, institutional or community activity. Examples: specialized services, consultancy and information technology for education, health, communitarian or public services.
  4. STUDENTS PROYECTS

    It is open for undergraduate and postgraduate theses, final year projects, unpublished student projects and entrepreneur programme student projects. Some examples are: innovation or technological solutions for the automotive sector, health sector, agro-industries, mechatronics, aerospace, software, domestic appliances, biotechnology, among others.
  5. TECHNOLOGICAL PUBLICATION

    Acknowledges approved papers published in technological or technical journals. Approved papers published in proceedings of national or international conferences, held during the last five years, can be submitted in this category. The papers should make reference to a product or process with distinctive competitive advantages and technological contributions.
  6. SPECIAL AWARDS

    This category is for acknowledging a special form of innovation that establishes a new technological trend; it awards a commendable and special technological effort by a company, institution or a member of society, who refines the concept for doing business, creates job positions and/or considerably increases productivity through technology. Submissions for this category are open from February to June, and require supported evidence and documentation, to be considered for this award.

In each category individuals, team of individuals, institutions or companies can participate.
