The Government of the Mexican State of
Nuevo Leon, through the Department of Economic
Development, holds as one of its responsibilities, to
stimulate the technological development of the
productive and academic sectors, either private or
public, as a strategy for international competitiveness.
In this way, since 1993 local public and private
organizations have combined their efforts to create the
PREMIO TECNOS, which is awarded every year by the
Government of the State of Nuevo Leon, to individuals,
companies or institutions that have contributed
significantly to the technological advancement, creating
benefits for industry, business, and society in general.
Since 1999 the Premio Tecnos Award was
open for all mexican States.
Since 2008 the Premio Tecnos Award was
open for United States (Texas) and Spain (Cataluña).
